Workshop: Memory and Performance. Classical Reception in the Permorming Arts

London (Chickenshed Theatre), 1 November 2024

Demonstration-permormance of the comedy Peace by Aristophanes, culmination of a week-long workshop involving sudents from the Universities of Bristol and Parma and of the Chickeshed’s Foundation Degree in Inclusive Performance, directed by Marco Martinelli and Ermanna Montanari (Teatro delle Albe/Ravenna Teatro).
The workshop, coordinated by Francesca Bortoletti in collaboration with Giovanna Di Martino (University College London/Oxford), has been finances by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura (London), the Ravenna Teatro (Ravenna), the Leventis Foundation, the Gilbert Murray trust, Bthe ristol Institute of Greece, Rome, and the Classical Tradition, the Institute of Classical Studies, the Archive of Performances of Greek and Roman Drama (Oxford), the University of Parma-DUSIC, and WIDE European Program.

The virtual exhibition, titled: The International University Theatre Festival through the materials of university archives, is hosted on the Omeka platform, and displays, among others, sources from the archives of the Universities of Bristol and Zagreb.
