Festival Internazionale del Teatro Universitario di Parma (1953-1975)

Virtual exhibition, opened on 29 November 2023

The initiative, promoted by the Research Group for the History of the University of Parma, in collaboration with the Historical Archive of the University of Parma, the Inter-University Research Centre for the Memory of the Performing Arts (MAP), and CAPAS, celebrates the seventieth anniversary of the Parma International University Theatre Festival (FITU). A unique experience in Italy, FITU has been an intellectual and artistic crossroads for the younger generations for over twenty years and a privileged space for the dissemination of theatrical aesthetics and cultural and political orientations.
The virtual exhibition on the Omeka platform promotes its memory and enhances its documents, displaying, among others, sources from the archives of the Universities of Bristol and Zagreb.
On 29 November 2023, on the occasion of the exhibition’s opening, a study day was held in Parma coordinated by Roberta Gandolfi, Piergiovanni Genovesi, Maria Grazia Perazzo, and Fabrizio Solieri.
